Join Max and the Team for Saturday’s Bike Race.

Max Mack, cycle race.

2020 Eyes is proud to sponsor Max Mack and the Health is Wealth Road Cycling Team

While some of us are celebrating bike month by pumping up our tires for the first time in months, Max and the Health is Wealth Road Cycling Team are cycling on Saturday yet again, this time in Santa Rosa’s Team Swift Criterium race event, an official ancillary event for Stage 1 of this year’s AMGEN Tour Of California that begins this Sunday, May 13th.

Be sure to attend the race this Saturday and watch for the pink blur on two wheels—that’s sure to be Max and the team.

We Interview Our Cycle Team About Their Season.

Max on the Winners' Podium

This is the 3rd year 2020 EYES has sponsored Max Mack and the Health is Wealth Road Cycling Team.

Recently we had a chance to talk with Max about the Health is Wealth Road Cycling Team and the team’s race strategy.

2020 EYES: It looks like the team is racing every weekend. What’s happening this season?

Max: “We’re preparing for success at Districts and Nationals come August and September, respectively. We are an amateur/elite team under the United States Cycling Federation/Northern California Nevada Cycling Association, USCF/NCNCA. This is the most competitive racing district in the Nation.

Jess and Moon have recently joined me, for this season. They were riding for Team Safeway and Berkeley Bicycle Club, respectively for the past few years. They have noticed my lone efforts over the years and were keen on my ability to win, place and show very well over the years without a team to help me out.

These two guys are key to helping a sprinter, such as myself, be more successful. They will do the hard work at the beginning or middle of the race to keep me from using too much energy; so I can be fresh at the end. Though we are still getting to know each other as a team, it takes many race situations to ‘know’ how each other works. Nonetheless, as the past couple of races have shown, the three of us have been a force to contend with and has seen us secure 8th, 8th, & 4th.”

2020 EYES: How’s the season been for you compared to last year?

Max: “I finished 17th out of 150 competitors at the 2011 National Criterium Championships in Bend, Oregon. I was ranked 3rd in the State and 4th in the Nation as a Masters 45+ competitor. I am looking to podium for sure in 2012.”

2020 EYES: We can only guess at how much work goes into such great achievements. See you at the next race.

Max: “I’d love to see you guys there. Thanks so much for the sponsorship.”

Five Tips for Selecting Glasses Frames

1. Look for colors that flatter your eyes, hair and skin. “You can’t change the color of your eyes”, says Ron Kehoe, registered dispensing optician and owner of Sacramento’s 2020 EYES. “That’s why it’s one of the major considerations when picking frames.”

2. If the whites of your eyes tend to be yellow or red, stay away from warm tones.

3. Evaluate your facial structure. Glasses accentuate the shape of your face. “If you have a round face, round glasses will make it [look] rounder,” says Kehoe.

4. Consider your wardrobe’s dominant colors. “Certain colors complement each other and will look great. Others clash”, says Kehoe. “Glasses are a major part of your wardrobe.”

5. Glasses have specific functions, whether for working, playing reading, driving, or being in the sun or water. “The way you’re using the glasses determines the coating, the lens and the frame,” explains Kehoe. “Polarized lenses are for sun, for instance. Or you may want progressive [lenses] instead of bifocals.”
